I guess I MIGHT agree with you, with a big caveat...if you
want insurance to be a truly free option, then you cannot
force anyone (doctor, hospital, etc.) to provide you with
any aid whatsoever if you don't have insurance (or be paying
up front in cash - which you might find difficult to do if
you are unconscious) - oh - and there is a waiting period if
you decide to delay your insurance purchase until you need
it.
Sort of like that one incident a while back where the fire
department arrived at a home fire but refused to do anything
because the home owner decided they didn't need to pay the
