US vs. Rwanda
Authored by: Anonymous on Saturday, June 30 2012 @ 11:54 PM EDT
I'm not sure what your point is. I used Catholic Charities as an example because I know they run, I don't know, tens? hundreds? of hospitals across the US. A lot of it free or low-cost because they're a charity.

Are they everywhere? No, but it would be easier if they only had to provide basic health care.

Obviously there are other charities that do that sort of thing. Your example must have been organized by some group. Dollars to donuts it wasn't the Federal government. Thousands of volunteers don't spontaneously appear in one location, some group must have organized them, even if they may not "officially" be a charity.

A question to ask yourself is, are the people in your example going to have better access to even basic medical health care now that we have Obamacare?

Is the Federal government going to start setting up rural health care clinics under Obamacare? I don't think so, but apparently they're going to penalize/tax them if they don't buy health insurance.

I'm not even sure what my point is, except that I don't think it's equivalent when someone points to a country like Rwanda as having universal health care as justification for implementing Obamacare.
