Agreed. Emergency room medicine is the most expensive kind.
Yet, if you don't have health insurance, especially if
you're poor (and that doesn't mean below the poverty line),
you're liable to put off needed healthcare until it's an
emergency.

It's a lousy car example, but in essence the current system
tells people we won't help them finance a Civic, a
motorcycle, or public transportation to get to their jobs
and shopping, but we'll pay for them to lease on a daily
basis a Cadillac or Mercedes at several times the cost
instead.
