"Personally I hope they strip this guy of all credentials and ship him
out.
Preferably to some 3rd world dictatorship more in tune with his
thinking."
What US airport would you suggest as his destination? [ Reply to This | Parent | # ]

The only thing the Europen cort will decide is if parts of the treaty are
against European law or not. They are not deciding if the treaty becomes
implemented. That is a decisiom to be made by the European parlement and they
just decided not to sign the treaty.
The expectation is that if the treaty is not against European law that De Gucht
will make a second try, with or without modifications of the treaty. If parts
are against European law then the treaty has to be rewritten before it can
become valid in Europe. In all cases that the treaty has to be modified, a new
signing has to be initiated in all countries that already approved the treaty,
probably again with voting in the parlements of those countries.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]

I think the European Paliament voted against as a reaction to ACTA being
negotiated in the very clandestine way it was.
So the fight against ACTA became a fight fro greater EP power
