Well, OK, Wall Street factors in that 70 percent, and the result is -- nothing.
Stock price still stagnant. Windows phone still a failure, maybe Windows 8, too.
Microsoft's competition still eating its lunch. Stacked-ranked employees still
sabotaging each other.
So, let's take it to 100 percent. Think that's going to make a difference?
Right.

It didn't say it collects 70% of all royalties, it said
it collects royalties on 70% of smart phones. For all I
know, it could be a penny per phone. Although, on *some*
phones it could be a lot more.

Your headline is inaccurate: collecting royalties on 70% of Android phones is
not the same as 70% of royalties.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]

Well, now that we have googorola, I can't see MS taking them on ...
And if Google starts selling tablets and phones that don't pay the MS tax, MS's
take had better be small ...
Even better, if MS attack everybody EXCEPT Google, that then gives Google the
opportunity to file for declaratory judgement, forcing MS's hand. That could be
very embarrassing for MS :-)
Cheers,

- They are building a defense for Motorola Mobile (or is there
already a new name?) to collect a considerable amount for
every Windows copy's.
- As long as they are not able to collect from Google, the
legal base is in question. They get the money and other things
like WP7 machines, limitations on other devices, thanks to
other "methods".[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]
