Do you trust Oracle? Enough to use Oracle Linux ?

The update of CentOS to match RHEL 6 could be best described as a
"fiasco".

The CentOS developers were openly hostile to anyone trying to volunteer to help
move the project along. The lack of progress reports and continual answers
"leave us alone it'll be done when we're ready" led to flame-fests on
the CentOS mailing lists that made AOL's presence on USENET look mild.

To someone who operates several dozen RHEL systems, runs his own YUM mirrors and
builds RPM packages from scratch, and has ported RPM 5 to AIX, Solaris and
Cygwin, I could tell it would not be worth my time to offer any of my expertise
with RHEL and RPM to them.

So I left them to it and went somewhere else. That's the point of Free
software. I almost shelled out for an RHEL license, but they made it so
difficult to actually pay them that I didn't bother and went with SL instead.
(Oh: and there was no trial of the configuration I actually wanted to use.)
