How long before we have malware-infected UEFI's thanks to
this?
You bring your "secure" pc to your trusted corner shop
because it needs to be cleaned from viruses -- or to remove
bloatware --- and the friendly corner shop flashes a new
version of the secure boot loader.
Now all keystrokes go to a safe place in [redacted] even
before reaching the OS!
Progress indeed. I see several businesses booming.

So now a malware-infected router (or one that's had it's DNS settings altered
to point to servers under control of a malicious party (see "DNSChanger")) can
not just mess up Windows, it can actively cause malware to be loaded into my
machine's BIOS ROM. Wonderful idea, that. What could possibly go
