I had no problems with Element 14. Still, you don't need them any more! I
suggest a class 4, unprogrammed 16GB micro SD card in an SD carrier: that works
fine for me.
Raspbian
“wheezy”
Open a Terminal where you extracted the .img file
and;
sudo dd bs=1M if=2012-07-15-wheezy-raspbian.img
of=/dev/sdb
assuming that your SD card is, in fact, /dev/sdb. It is
usually apparent from your file manager and ls /dev/sd*.

Download the Raspberry Pi PDF Mags and keep up with the Raspberry
Pi News.
You might want to look at ModMyPi for a case, but there are
several other choices including the one on the Raspberry Pi .org Home
Page.
Raspberry Pi
Forums
to see just how many other folk make the same silly errors
as did you!
If you want to use your Raspberry Pi to access those sites,
I suggest Dillo rather than Midori. I use a Ralink USB wifi
dongle.
With those links and a bit of Googling, you can find all you
need including a mobile phone charger to power the Pi and a powered hub for
power-hungry USB peripherals.
