What needs to be done is study that shows the mean time stock is held, when it
is held for:
* Less than 30 days;
* More than 30 days;
Somebody mentioned a surtax on stock transactions if held for less than a
specific period of time. Whilst that distorts the market, so that shares are
dumped right after the specific period of time elapses, it will partially
restore sanity, by forcing investors to consider the "short term"
effect of stock ownership.
IMNSHO, it would be much smarter to simply require shareholders to make up the
difference between the liquidated assets of a company, and the outstanding debt,
when a company files chapter # 7, with chapter # 11 being abolished in tota.
File bankruptcy, and all assets are immediately liquidated. The company will be
formally dissolved within 30 days, with the shareholders being on the hook for
any debt that is not paid from the assets of the company.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]
