It's a Greek word, right? the "rh" construct is a transliteration of
the "rough breathing" mark over initial "rho"--compare
"rhyme" and "rhythm" (both of which can be found h-less
variants). Similarly, the "h" in "hymn" represents rough
breathing over initial "upsilon" (in fact, initial "h" on
any English word derived from Greek represents the "rough breathing"
