.
Samsung will take every opportunity to ask the Judge to let their evidence in.
They will point at Apple and say that they opened the door to this evidence.
Every Apple witness will be guarded so as to not say something giving the Judge
reason to allow the evidence as rebuttal. This will drag through the whole
trial. Koh will have to decide it again and again under the ever "new and
changing" circumstances of each witness.
Something is going to happen with the jury causing a mistrial. This case has
become too public in an area of significant industry awareness. If they aren't
compromised before, things will come out in deliberations.

One definition is:
Stimulate or incite (someone) to do or feel
something
Somehow I don't think Samsung provoked the Judge to disallow
evidence into the case that Apple was fully aware of and disposed the
appropriate engineer on.....
... that Samsung provoked Apple to identify
the F700 in Apple's opening statement...
... just so Samsung could then
raise this point as appealable.
