Judges claim vehemently that they rule on the
law
and the law
alone. If what you say above is true, then they
are either self-deluded or
liars, or both. Either way, it is
not good for the law.
There is
one failing common to all judges - they are human.

One must not assume a judge is corrupt or dishonest, when incompetence,
indifference, simple human prejudice, and ignorance can also be possible. First
eliminate the impossible, what remains must be the truth.
It is equally possible that the Judge just doesn't like Samsung or their
attorneys, and thus is more favorable to the ones she likes. She may know the
firm that Apple uses and have friends among them.
So many variables. Human emotion and behavior are complicated. Some judges are
