A road construction equipment company in Northern Ireland purchased a large
quantity of surplus green paint after the second world war. For years they
painted all of their gear with it. Eventually the supply dwindled and they
decided that they needed new paint. Trying to make a brighter image for
themselves and in keeping with highway safety visibilities they went with a very
visible orange. Remember which part of the world this was? The change rather
badly upset certain politically charged factions, who were sensitive over the
two colours, and resulted in a series of fires.

Louboutin took his red sole seriously and, though he may be appealing the
rulings, he's lost against YSL and Zara.
