My AT&T iPhone 4 did not come with a case at all. My wife's Verizon
Motorola Droid 2 did not come with a case.
In my experience, the complete opposite is true.

I use a rubber galosh to protect my Ace against bumps (very useful when The Cat
is about) but the Samsung logo is very visible, on the front. Apples, on the
back, would not be.
