I've been to a divebar where the bathroom is in Georgia, and the
barback, and beer is in North Carolina. There is a line painted on the floor,
with a table to put your beverage on, for when you go to the bathroom. Taking
the beer into Georgia is a violation of Georgia law, that is occasionally
enforced. While I've never been to said bar, I can attest that this
sort of thing happens to private residences as well.
When I was a kid, I had
a cousin who lived on the border of Beverly Hills and Los Angeles. The dividing
line went down the center of the house*, so half the bedrooms were in
LA, and half in BH. How would a "tax clearinghouse" deal with such an
address?
*Note: In the mid '80s, the city limit line was moved an now the
property is entirely within BH --- I am not merely a "consumer" or a
"taxpayer". I am a *CITIZEN* of the United States of America.
