Programmers of ordinary skill or less seem to
find jobs all the time. Quite a few of them seem
to be working for Microsoft, for example.
On a more serious note, I think it is a problem
when a CV is not allowed to say what is true for
most of the population, namely that they are of
about average skill in what they do, and have
no particular excellence to show, just a profile
of average skills in a specific field.
As a practitioner in any specific field, you
have chosen a line of work that interests you,
and for which you hopefully have some talent.
You know stuff that most people outside of
your field of work will never learn. "Average
skill" is quite a lot of skill when you take
that into account.
