Do you have a link to that prior art? I've been trying to see prior art for
pinch to zoom and have not been able to find it.
Some people mention the Diamondtouch but I haven't seen it in their videos.
Others mention the Ted talk by Jeff Han, but considering his talk was in 2006
and apple bought fingerworks in 2005 it seems highly likely that he developed
his version later. I'd like to see a concrete example of pinch to zoom prior art
before deciding whether the patent should be valid or not.
I don't buy the "because it's intuitive it obvious" argument. That is
pure nonsense. Making things complex is easy...look at all the bloatware out
there. Making things simple is often much, much harder...and it only becomes
obvious after the fact because it is elegant. After all, the iPhone wasn't the
first touchscreen phone by a long shot, so if pinch to zoom is so obvious why
