It would make sense if investors were worried that Nokia
management was clueless and had been botching their PR.
Admission of a mistake would be a welcome sign that reality-
based decision-making is starting to take hold.
However, it's been obvious to everyone for quite a while
that Nokia's top management is beyond clueless, with
problems on a much larger scale than the phony-advertising
flap. Anybody still invested in Nokia is not going to be
betting on a return of sanity. They're going on some sort
of purely financial calculation. I think PolR is right -
investors are betting that good news for the industry
generally will mean good news for Nokia too - at least,
enough to bring the share price up a little.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]

Because 'poor judgement' is a vast improvement over 'oblivious' or 'completely
