And Groklaw is hosted by a server of the University of North Carolina. Granted,
from time to time some politicians have tried to shut down pieces of the
university, but they've never got very far. I guess they could starve them out,
but you can see that coming.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]

..some Slashdot type sites _are_ "available for shutdown",
but the P.I.P.E. etc types would want to find socially
acceptable ways to shut these sites, ways that don't
backfire on e.g. Election Day etc.
..e.g. Slashdot used to be a linguistic etc cesspool of the
kind that could have been shut down on vitriolic language
alone, years ago when I checked last time, it appears _much_
more civil now.
..once such socially acceptable ways are found, e.g.
"National Security!!! PJ is a Norwegian spy polluting the
minds of innocent Americans!!!", Groklaw shutdown will be
that much easier.
..remember, tSCOG's _big_ mistake was go straight for Big
Blue, instead of learning on easy prey first, and in the
bargain, get a nice easy big pile of case law to support
their big hunt. Err on the side of caution, expect these
P.I.P.E. dream fairys to learn from their mistakes.
..and, at the other extreme, the Slashdot etc purchase
_could_ become a fairy-tale style story to get toddlers
asleep.
..until we know more, keep an open mind, and, keep digging.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]
