Both side probably felt he would work for them... Apple - he's got patents, so
he'll uphold the status-quo; Samsung - he's got real patents, so he'll react
against the garbage patents that are diluting the value of real patents. Well,
he DID work for one side, and we saw which one that was.

Note that on page 22 of exhibit 1 of docket item 1991 the names of the jurors
with prior patent experience are recorded as having agreed to put aside their
prior experience and decide this case solely on the evidence submitted at
trial.
Page 23 shows none of the prospective jurors raised their hands when asked if
they "...have strong feelings or strong opinions about either the United
States patent system or intellectual property laws".
How can the recipient of a State monopoly boon not? To interject a Ferengi
concept here, you have to pay for the privilege, you must have thought strongly
enough of the result to do that.
