I agree. Really. My point here is that he is
being prosecuted in Sweden for something he
allegedly did as an allegedly unpleasant individual,
not for what he did in his professional role. His
insistence on commingling the two by claiming that
Sweden has a judicial system that is covertly
controlled by the US and that a death squad will
be waiting to put a sack over his head and ship
him to the US as soon as he sets foot on Swedish
territory is preposterous, and unfortunately it
has a side effect of tainting his professional
public image as a hero with his seemingly less
than agreeable traits as a person.
He himself chose to make this into more than
a personal problem for him, and he is generating
most of the publicity himself by making outlandish
claims about US influence over Swedish courts
that offend me as a Swedish citizen.
