Whether you like any patents or not doesn't mean that there aren't different.
The contract between Intel and Samsung was not made public but was
shown first to Judge Kohl and then to the jury. Samsung's lawyers even
accidentally put it on a the projector for a fees seconds. This is a private
contract that Judge Koh didn't not require to me made public bc of possible
negative effects on Intel.
The fact is that both Moto and Samsung are using FRAND patents to try to
obtain injunctions. MS and Apple both own FRAND wireless patents, but
neither are suing any company with them.
Why would any company buy a component to their end product if there was
not patent exhaustion. Licensing royalties would make it impossibly
expensive for any company to manufacture anything.
Would you like to live in a world without tech gadgets or the Internet bc a
wifi $100 wi-if router cost $100,000 bc all of the license royalty fees.
Should Ford or GM, etc... pay Moto and Samsung each over $1000 per
$50,000 car that contains an OnStar system that uses a $10 wireless radio
chip? That's what Moto and Samsung are asking for from MS and Apple.
How is that reasonable, at least to a normall person that doesn't despise
MS and Apple?
Say goodbye to every gadget you like and the whole world economy if
Moto and Samsung get their way.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]
