This isn't a US court. And no, Koh cannot 'override' the German judge when it
comes to contempt of said court.

Motorola is a US company so the US judge could order them
not to apply the German ruling. Samsung is Korean so they
could tell the US to stick it where the sun don't shine if
the US decided to try to protect apple in England.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]

The US district court did not override the German court's ruling. Instead it
prohibited Motorola from posting the bond necessary to enforce the
injunction.
Same outcome through different means: no injunction.
It's a surprise the US court could stop the bond from being posted.
Motorola appealed and lost on the question whether this was a contact case.
Have they appealed the decision prohibiting the posting the bond? [ Reply to This | Parent | # ]
