Welcome to the cloud...
Authored by: Anonymous on Sunday, October 28 2012 @ 11:00 AM EDT
There ought to be a way to opt out of nonsense like this. How am I supposed to
protect myself from someone else's failure to think his network through (or lack
of skill and basic security concepts to do so effectively).

There should be some type of law in place that compares to the hippaa laws,
where any personally identifiable information is required to be protected (and
then send managerial and IT types to jail for not following the rules).

I like clouds. Clouds have their place. A cloud is no different than any other
server when it comes to providing services/information. Want an internal cloud?
That's great. If it contains information that should be protected, don't point
it to the Internet. That's common sense, and security concepts 101 doesn't
change just because someone uses a cloud, a cluster, or a stand-alone.

I was just starting to think that 'cloud' was the new code word to sneak linux
past people that have a fear of penguins.
