Correct. You must disable JavaScript to stop the
autocomplete feature. The problem is that it wastes
bandwidth, slows you down, and worse can confuse the
user using a cell phone into thinking they do not have
a good connection. In fact, they really may not have
a good connection, but why make the situation worse
for the user?
Google needs to have a button on the search that
allows the user to toggle the setting.
The default show be NO Autocomplete.
And this should be the case at all times.
Ask yourself, how many times have you made a typo
doing a Google search? Everytime you do, you are
wasting bandwidth and wasting cputime on Google
servers and the routers in between.
Come on Google, this is a no-brainer.
