Here in Britain we have less lawyers (which we call
solicitors).
Not quite: consulting a Barrister I know, he told me
in UK:
- Barrister: qualified person who pleads case in court,
must be a member of one of the four Inns of Court; usually instructed
by:
- Solicitor: qualified person who deals directly with clients,
usually engages a Barrister for the actual court proceedings, though in some
[specific] cases my argue the case in court themselves.
- Lawyer: anyone who
practises law, but NOT necessarily qualified (and hence are cheap - those
companies advertising no fee-no win litigation probably have lots of cheap
unqualified lawyers and one (or two) actually qualified solicitors).

:-) :-)
Even my best friend (a solicitor) won't give me advice ...
(other than "not my field, here's a colleague who can help you")
Cheers,
