That was the first thing that entered my mind as I started reading the article.
Another I would add to your list is molten salt heat storage. I trimmed the
subject line because I'm a glass-half-empty pessimist on this one, more
so after reading the Energy Bubble story in Off Topic above

It's distinctly technically risky, but it's also got that magic Ivy League in
the
founders. I was disappointed not to get a description of both halves of the
conversion process, or what the intended operating temperatures might be.
Steam tables, anyone?
