Other bullies are not as acutely aware of the
fact that all the other children are starting
to grow up, and that Android University has a
strong appeal to the pupils currently in Apple's
school yard.
Microsoft has plenty of people in their school
who are slow learners, so they will have some more
time to adjust and find a new business model while
their most reliable customers repeat a grade or two.
Apple, by comparison, has no reliable cash cow with
a strong corporate focus, and no long term government
and corporate contracts for IT solutions, so they
can quite soon become irrelevant if they fail
to attract and keep their private customers.
I think they may be in panic mode right now.

Perhaps you meant "Have not been as aggressive lately."?
FWIW, I still consider MS to be worse than Apple, though the margin is getting
