It's easy to assume that Apple just put out all is bluster
and self righteousness for convincing the public, but this
attitude before the court, and in the face of being proven
wrong suggests that they may have repeated the same lies for
so long that they actually believe them.
If that's the case, we could expect similar childish
petulance regardless of the legal jurisdiction they lose in,
and similar bombastic bluster about owning all designs and
ideas that bad people are stealing from them whenever they
win anything anywhere.
Believing one's own lies may make them more convincing to
listeners, but does put one at an intellectual disadvantage
when planning.
Seems like if they have bought into it, then it will limit
their effectiveness going forward, since it cant be good to
make decisions based on a purely be sided interpretation of
a situation, or on made up "facts" (as they recently
published in the face of a court order).
When such a worldview collides with a legal system that
doesn't buy into the same falsehoods then sparks will occur.
It remains to be seen whether Koh's courtroom has bought
into the Apple worldview.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]

Note that this isn't just one British judge - this is a panel of judges
on our Court of Appeal; one step below the British Supreme Court.
And you are supposed to read between the lines; they definitely are
not amused.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]
