+1 for Thinkpad. They're a bit pricey, but they are essentially ruggedized
laptops, they are pretty robust. They used to be made by IBM, that division was
sold off to Lenovo years ago but it continues to put out quality hardware.
I've owned several Thinkpads over the years. The first one I owned, I
accidentally dropped from a height of about 5 feet while I was using it. It
clattered on the floor but nothing was broken. I didn't even lose any data
because it parked the hard drive when its accelerometer figured out I had
dropped it. After that incident, I went on using it for about another three
years.
This is all anecdotal, so I suggest you look into Thinkpads on Lenovo's web site
and see what you like. Then see if you can find a review of them at a reputable
