Very few US businesses have any real awareness of the difficulties
they can get into in foreign parts.
But isn't that why one hires a
local lawyer, to make you very aware of the local laws and how the legal system
operates in the foreign country and as such represent your company
appropriately? After all, it's as much the lawyers reputation on the line as it
is the foreign company if the court is treated with disdain.
I'm sure Apple
will pull it's head in on any such behavior with any future legal actions in
Briton.
Sadly in the US, it seems, standards are much lower and lawyers and
companies seem to not care too much how they behave towards the court. And the
court doesn't punish with authority when such antics are played as seems the
case elsewhere. Guess that's what you get when the $ seems to also rule the
courts. [ Reply to This | Parent | # ]
