Not good enough. You need to stop using GMail and Google
Maps as well. There
are plenty of excellent alternatives out
there. Anyone who holds the opinions
you do simple has no
excuse not to find alternatives. It impinges negatively on
your integrity. You should set an example in keeping with
your conclusions,
else you lack any credibility at all.
When you come back and tell me you
have deleted your
GMail account, and found alternatives to other Google
products and services, and that you no longer use anything
connected with
Google, then we can have a nice little
rational conversation about your
opinions. Until then, I
have no interest in discussing this with you. [ Reply to This | Parent | # ]

Sorry Gringo, my use of GMail goes back
to a long time ago, around the
time of their IPO when I believed the whole
"Don't be evil" thing. Most of
my current activity in GMail (which I tended to
use a spam dustbin) is to
tell some
correspondents
my "real" e-mail
addresses. I could argue that misleading GMail with my
discardable rubbish is
not actually helping them. Maps is used by me
when
teaching on other people's
equipment, when I demonstrate how they may be mined for information.
For my
own stuff, I now use dedicated software (currently Tom
Tom), and do not allow
this to be linked to other information.
After a brief review of your 820
posts, I find a significant level of negative
comments about Apple and
Microsoft, and a fair number that seem to
heavily support Google; and few that
examine Google in a
balanced manner, or are critical of them. You have also
called other
people trolls or
shills - Apparently because they disagree with,
or contradict you. Because
of PJ's past writings on these matters, I am
reluctant to call you out as a
troll,
or possibly shill, but your past
behaviour, when you call others trolls or
shills, either shows a lack of
consideration to others, or you have some
other
agenda. [ Reply to This | Parent | # ]
