but can you run IE10 on XP?
No. Anything newer than IE8 requires at
least Windows Vista. In fact I found, when upgrading the Windows partition of
one oldish computer, that you actually need Vista SP2 to be able upgrade to IE9,
and for whatever reason the upgrade from SP1 to SP2 does not work on that
computer (after grinding for a couple of hours, goes mostly through with the
update but then find a some problem (with just a hex code for explanation) and
downgrades back - kudos to MS that it could backtrack so without introducing
problems).
Oh well, the Linux partition on that machine can run modern
browsers fine. I keep the Windows partition there mainly to drive one
printer/scanner combo. That experience also taught me how to set up a
NTFS-formatted USB hard drive so that the corresponding UIDs are seen both by
