I am sometimes guilty of being USA-centric when I
communicate. But when the FDA is involved, I think that
being USA-centric is a given. The generic situation in the
USA (per my experience) is fairly dismal.
Thanks for the global insight.
Your comment about GM sort of hits the nail on the head. We
are expecting a matter of public health and safety to be
taken care of by the free market. It ain't going to work.
Back around 1900 Upton Sinclair wrote a novel called "The
Jungle" about the meat-packing industry that launched what
is now the FDA. The muckrakers (as they were then called)
brought about a lot of good things by getting the government
involved in what had been free market enterprises. Sometimes
it is needed. But it needs to be done well, or skip it
entirely.

hmmm, you don't even know your competitors? Sandoz is and always was a Swiss
company as well as Ciba+Geigy. These companies merged and are now called
Novartis with headquarter in Basel which still is within Swiss borders....
Sandoz is the generic manufacturer division of Novartis.
