It will also be capable of running a BBC Micro emulation, which would interest
me more. But that had rounded corners too, and a keyboard, and far more external
connectors than Steve Jobs would ever have approved of, as well as an OS that
was very advanced for a 6502 based machine, and a Basic that was faster than
Bill's Bloated Bugware Basic on a PC/AT despite the big hardware disadvantage.
It is also very likely to be able to run RiscOS, from the Acorn Archemedes, at
an amazingly fast speed. I don't need one myself yet, but when I do, I expect it
will be a couple of generations more advanced and even better. As it happens,
my first batch of Raspberry Pi's, for Christmas presents, has just arrived, with
one more on order, all the upgraded 512MB models. The big dilemma is which OS to
put on them. I have three 8GB SD cards ready and waiting.... [ Reply to This | Parent | # ]
