Bingo.

I think this is already happening in manufacturing. Having complete freedom to design and implement a business plan is a huge advantage. China has cheap energy, cheap labor and minimal patents.

Asian companies are now compete with the largest American companies:

- Cisco's largest competitor is Huawaei.
- HP's largest competitor is Lenovo.
- Apple's largest competitor is Samsung.

It is not an American world anymore. Huawei is the second largest carrier infrastructure maker behind Ericson, which is Swedish. Lenovo sells more computers than HP. Samsung sells more cell phones than Apple.

Who wants to go looking for patent fights? It's a lose/lose situation. Country
A and Country B can sell similar products to Country X (which doesn't recognize
s/w patents). Fine, they'll compete on price, features, etc. Now, they try to
sell to Country Z (which does recognize s/w patents).....wait...... didn't that
already happen?

Outsourcing saves money, that's the bottom line.
