As are dictionaries - every word I am now using is in a copyrighted dictionary
and in the UK there is no fair-use so every word here is breaking the copyright
notice of every dictionary that says "no *PART* of this publication may be

Yes but you are not copyrighting the maths just the books layout.
I have about 20 maths books dating up to 1990 or so and have discovered 99% of
the mathematics presented is available in books from pre 1930.
If you learn enough about software you will eventually learn that ALL the new
ideas people think they are having and want to patent are old hat - its either
ignorance on part of the people who apply for the patents or sheer financial
