The "Kansas City stuff" hopefully should make telecomms companies
nervous about poking a bear with sender pays nonsense. I certainly wouldn't want
to make that more profitable for Google to roll out widescale if I was them.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]

I think it's fairly simple.
Google has been sued repeatedly for patent violations and in these suits Google
has demonstrated several tendencies.
They won't settle just because it would cost less than going to court.
They will throw every possible defense at the plantif including disputing the
validity of every single patent used against them on multiple grounds.
Goggle has lost very few of these lawsuits.
There is one other factor that plays into this. Google is bigger and has more
