We don't go in for Presidential elections here. And our market has
already decided, Galaxy Note is on backorder everywhere, even tho'
or p'raps provoking, no print ads for over two weeks.

What can be termed "the initial campaign" started in the DC Metro many
weeks ago with pictures of the Surface occupying every sign. There was room for
no other ads. They were even posted on the floor so you could walk on them.
The picture was of the Surface with a colored keyboard. They were up for weeks.
Then in the last few weeks they were gone. They were replaced by more pictures
of Surface machines, this time with the keyboards separated or the words
"click in" near the joint of the keyboard to screen. Some showed the
screen and the tablet separated.
What an immense expense to mount the first campaign and then replace it with all
new art making a slight modification. Multiply it world-wide and they are
getting half a bang for their billion dollar marketing campaign.
By the first campaign one could not discern that the Surface was a tablet. It
looked just like another laptop --with a flimsy keyboard.
Maybe this is why that big shot from the Surface company had to leave.

It might be cheaper for M$ to just stick them in boxes of
cereal. At least that way M$ could try to force consumers
to use them. So far M$ really has not done very well in the
consumer choice department.
