Excellent point! I remember having to write essays of 'at
least x [pages,words]'. We should be teaching our kids at a
much younger age to make (and support) their point in 'at most
x [pages,words]'. In the real world, if you can't make your

Legal arguments are not homework for school. Litigants
should be allowed to provide sufficient information to
fully support their arguments. Placing arbitrary
limitations on the length of legal documents makes as much
sense as limiting the sizes of computer program source code
regardless of what it does. Perthaps engineering drawings
and calculations should be limited in length regardless
of whether they are for an outhouse or a nuclear power
plant.
Perhaps the Judge doesn't want to spend the next ten years
doing Apple vs Samsung. But, then how can one expect true
justice to be served if the judge is not willing to listen
to each sides arguments in full?
