...some of his blog posts seem clear, rational and
reasonably honest. Worse blogs exist. I'm choosing not to
name them. I tend to honor people who are willing to present
accurate descriptions of their viewpoints. The extra
information can result in communication and perhaps eventual
progress. I'm not a fan of his economic analysis, such as
it is, but, eh, that's not his area of expertise.
...sadly, while software patents do seem to be a mostly bad
idea (bad economics), I guess that he's probably closer to
achievable future policy changes. So, I suspect that he may
be working more effectively than people at Groklaw to
improve software IP law. Championing 5 year terms (from
application) for software patents would significantly
improve software IP - and is something that could eventually
be sold to lawmakers.

(I prefer FOSS for most large-scale applications - and
proprietary built on FOSS for smaller operations - so I have
an issue with his OSS posts...he seems to be confusing
corporate success with the greater good, as a rule.)
