Not putting (too much) DRM into the console is a huge competitive advantage. If
they also add the possibility of pluging a keyboard and mouse, a DRM less Linux
console can make huge inroads into the much bigger computer market.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]

Lets look at their choices of OS:
- A Windows based OS. I can't see Microsoft giving Valve permission to make the
changes Valve needs for a console.
- An OS written from scratch. Expensive, and they then have to do a lot of work
getting Windows games to run on it.
- Linux based. Where the Linux community has already done the majority of the
work. Could they legally lock the hardware down without violating the GPL ?[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]
