It is not about justice, it is about finding a conclusion. Think of it as
civilized version of duel system - nobody dies because you fight with words and
not with guns. [ Reply to This | Parent | # ]

That is a much more relevant question.
Only the truly innocent want justice, and they are the least likely to get it.
Most people just want to get off scot-free.

It's the legal system as a whole. Sorry PJ, I don't think this sort of abuse is
limited to software patents, but is widespread throughout the system.
I know this, because I've been right and poor, and lost, but wrong and rich, and
won hands down, myself.
I no longer think the legal system means much except some armed bullies telling
me what I must do - even when they utterly ignore the laws in so doing. We've
lost the 4th and 5th amendments almost utterly already. Now they go after the
2nd, and the first. I've watched this over my 60 years, and I don't like what I
see one bit.
Even soldiers coming back from ???istan are telling me that they went and put
their lives at risk to protect something we threw away while they were gone. I
can't imagine what WWII vets think.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]
