I would be torn between this and a live distro, to use exclusively for online
banking. The inability to write to a drive is a major plus, in that scenario.
Different security threats require different approaches, something that non-
security people --- and even some in security --- do not always appreciate.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]

I have successfully made bootable usb sticks (for specifically Lubuntu because
of .iso size) and could make space left over for writing (actually on the booted
file system as opposed to mounting one). I used a linux program called
usb-creator. the gtk version is called usb-creator-gtk. Works better than my
spel cheker, ha. I have seen usb-creator-kde also.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]

no matter how "Safe" you think you've made it you have major
problems.
as simple as suppose you get a document now you want to transfer it to the
"Real" system.
oops.
or you once plug the usb stick into the real OS, forgetting which stick you've
been using.
oops.
there are any number of ways to cross an "air gap".
but the biggest problem is convenience, it always trumps security.

It gives the method to install under Linux first, and then the method to
install under Windws at the bottom.
Looks like a TROLL to
me.
