Actually - I'd say both of us are right depending on your point of
view.
If your point of view is the particular pattern to the flow of
electricity - then it is abstract as that is a particular interpretation of said
flow. If it is of the understanding of "what was documented", then again it's
the abstract as we are speaking of the Language.
However - you can also
author out said abstract concept in the form of an expression:
If software =
physical
Then
patent
Else
fail
In which case it
does embody the expression of the abstract.
This is no different then any
other language. The concept of language and communication is abstract. When
one authors a treatise on language and communication then one embodies the
understanding of the abstract within the expression of the abstract.
The
physical - of course - being nothing more then ink on paper. The meaning being
in how we understand the particular scratches of ink.
