Not to mention all the political cost involved
Authored by: Anonymous on Monday, January 21 2013 @ 10:07 AM EST

I don't mean politics as in Congress.

I mean politics in the form of the high level manager building his own empire and requiring the developers to use specific software tools which may not actually be the best tool for the job.

I've seen this, and the PM usually goes ballistic.

Not to mention the cost of potential litigation
Authored by: Anonymous on Monday, January 21 2013 @ 08:59 PM EST
If a software company thinks you might be persuaded to buy their product,
they'll send their sales-people over with chocolates and fine wine.

When software companies realize that you've taken the initiative to come up with
your own solution, they'll send their bullies over with papers that say mean and
ugly things.

If this works out for them, (which would mean that they will not be purchasing a
software product, but rather creating and using their own), I have but two
questions:

1. who will fire the first patent torpedo?
2. which platoon of patent trolls will they see coming over the hill first?

How dare they innovate? And this in a school? Think of the children! :)
