I would say it differently. Flying to the moon was difficult. Faking it was
impossible.

So far, with 2013 technology, no one has succeeded in
going to the moon. Do you really think it was possible
to do this in 1969?
All they had to do is have some guys up there in orbit
(that couldn't be tracked then), making all sorts of
radio transmissions with the use of an attenuator on the
antenna lead, and then come back with a few stones and
pictures.
The fact the stones were stolen and sold off proves that
they were not really valuable. We were told they were
priceless, but apparently when push came to shove, they
were not.
That fancy rocket and lunar module ... fine, they built it,
but it could have just been orbited and then come back
at a convenient time.
After the last "moon landing", when other countries tried
to duplicate it, all those efforts have gone wanting.
You would think in 2013, that Andy Griffith & Co could
buy some high tech gear and go off to the moon. Alas,
it is even *harder* now than it was then. Something is
rotten here.
