I have been having problems with a friends Windows XP computer. It refuses to
boot any live CD including Linux Rescue and Symantec Ghost. That made all the
images I took over the years totally worthless.
In addition, it became impossible to install an upgrade to the latest AVG
anti-virus offering and even a keyboard multimedia keyboard even though I have
succeeded in the past.
I know what you're thinking: why not install Linux, instead. You overlooked that
I have been unable to boot any Linux install CD or DVD.
Anyway, she never liked this machine and wants to buy a new one. I have pointed
out that every program she uses would be available with Linux, except Skype. She
is prepared to pay £70 for Windows 7, just to keep using Skype.
Now I am going to have to try the evil empire's service on my computer just to
make sure.
If Linux supports Facebook and Twitter... Well, I just don't want to know!
