> What is the mathematical operator for ...
This where the mistake is. You keep asking for operators when the relevant part
of math is algorithms. 'Semaphore' is a name given to an algorithm which ensures
things are done in a certain sequence.
We are not saying software is math because it is made of mathematical operators.
We are saying it is math because it is made of mathematical algorithms.

You clearly haven't studied the subject of mathematical algorithms, or even of
Von Neumann Machines.
I suggest taking some advanced courses in mathematical logic. Logicians are the
people who *invented* software. They can tell you exactly what math you're
looking at.
Now, if you're going something really funky like writing software to make an
external disk drive "walk" (google it), then you might have a real
patent. Note that that only works on one particular piece of hardware.
If you're writing something without regard to the hardware, treating the
hardware as a generic Von Neumann Machine, you have a piece of pure mathematics.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]
