It's those batteries that are the problem... Apple it has
been told is not gluing them into some laptops. So, the
question is this: Is the battery even replaceable if glued
in, ever... or, do you have to buy a whole new machine in 3
years when the battery dies, vs the one I have now, where it
is around 10 years old and still going strong (due to a
bunch of batteries I picked up).
If you could make a laptop run on AA batteries, the ones
that charge in 15 minutes, then you would have the answer to
the battery problem.
AND, if the power use of the whole system was so low, and
used all of Mary Lou's power savings that was in OLPC, and
that she preached about... - well, why not AA battery?
